Some notes:

  • North Carolina is finally playing like they should be the #1 team in the country over the week and a half. This is why I have put the Tar heels back at #1.
  • With Texas’s upset win over UCLA, the Longhorns have moved up from #8 to #3. Conversely, UCLA dropped 4 spots from #2 to #6.
  • As much as I may dislike Duke, they are too good right now for me to leave them out of the top 10.
  • Arizona’s win over Texas A&M had not been taken into account. If I had remembered it, the Aggies would be out of the top 10, and Arizona might have been in the top 25.
  • Looking at the poll again, Xavier may also be ranked to high. They beat Indiana on a neutral court, but the rest of their schedule has been less than impressive, including a loss to Miami of Ohio. If they play well in their upcoming schedule, however (unlike most teams, the Musketeers’ non-conference schedule is getting tougher in December), expect them to rise up the rankings significantly, perhaps into the top 10.

Any egregious errors I, or the blogpoll collective,  made in the ballot? Tell us in the comments. Many thanks to March To Madness for putting the basketball BlogPoll together.
